Hello ladies!

Lg is 10.5 months old and up until this week was on a good nap routine of napping around 9am and 1:30 for an hour plus. Since learning to sit up by herself she stirs at 30 minutes (which she has always done) and sits straight up, usually screaming as still tired. I have tried leaving her to it & laying her back down but she just sits straight back up and screams. She has just got her first two teeth so this could be linked I it but I really feel lost with it all and hate having an overtired grumpy baby. Any tips welcome!

My DS does this too and I'm afraid I have just given in and resorted to car rides or lying with him on our bed with the boob in - boooo

So afraid I don't have any advice sorry!! To be honest he's just a rubbish sleeper all round hence lurking around the Sleep threads Grin

DS went through phases like this with all major milestones. Stressful but I found it passed after a couple of weeks.

I think 30 minutes is fine at this age for the morning nap. Don't make it into a battle so get her up and have a busy morning then lunch. You may well find she sleeps longer after lunch, maybe up to 2 hours, if you start to gradually decrease and drop the morning nap.

Ps it's causing her to go from waking at half 6 in the morning (start of this week!) to 5am this morning!! Every day it's just got earlier and earlier. Would you continue to wait til normal morning nap time? It throws the whole day out and she went to bed just after 6pm last night whereas she had been going at 7 ish before all this.

whatever you do, don't bring her morning nap earlier if you can help it. in doing so you allow them to have their last sleep cycle (that would normally happen 5-6am ish) and you simply reinforce the early waking. Ditto giving milk in the hope it'll send her back to sleep as it can also get them used to having it at that time.
