Travel Cot mattresses

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the appropriate area - apologies if not.

I'm after a bit of advice regarding travel cot mattresses after scaring myself silly reading about possible suffocations/overheating.

We have a Nuna Sena travel cot and whilst the 'mattress' it comes with is marginally thicker than others, I am concerned that DS will still find it too uncomfortable sleeping on it every night while we are away on holiday.

We have considered this John Lewis travel cot 'enhancer'
www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-travel-cot-enhancer/p231855337 (although it is a couple of cm too narrow)
and this mothercare mattress

As the JL one is 100% polyester, would this cause DS to overheat? And would it matter if it was a couple of cm too narrow in terms of safety etc? (it has elasticated straps for each corner to hold it in place)
We would most likely use a cotton fitted sheet over the top too, to hold it in place.

Am I being an utter faff worrying about this??

I personally wouldn't worry.
Make sure the sheet is smoothly stretched over both the mattress and the travel cot board.
Can your Ds roll over yet? Make sure there are no folds of fabric or too many soft toys in the cot.
Then follow the advice re room temp for sleeping bag togs and take a thermometer (unless your baby monitor can check temps).

We used an extra mattress for Ds with our travel cot after he was about 5 months and it made a big difference to how well he slept in it up to 2.5 years
