Hi, really hoping that someone can help. My 8m/o ebf co-sleeping ds1 is healthy and happy and I am continuing to follow his lead in all areas.

However, recently I have been failing to bf him during the day. I try with my breast but he just isn't interested. I've also tried expressing but can't get more than 4oz most of the time. The result of this is that he is waking anything from 3-6 times a night wanting fairly long feeds.I don't mind feeding him at night but I had hoped that the days of one feed a night would last. Can I get them back?

Tonight I have tried to fill him up with formula but he wasn't interested. He occasionally has a ff in the day if I leave him but not often at all.Today has been a bad day and I feel as though ebfing is drawing to an end. I feel so guilty for thinking it but if I can't bf him or pump enough I don't know what the answer is. Can anyone help?I'm shattered. TIA

Could it just be that he is too distracted during the day? Since she was about 5 months old, I have had to feed dd (17 months) while lying down, in a darkened room. She would never feed while sitting on the sofa with me, or out and about as she simply wouldn't sit still long enough!

4oz is a perfectly respectable amount to express (far more than I getEnvy ) and the fact that he is feeding often at night means that your supply is still ok.

DS was the same around this time. I was convinced it was hunger due to portion size etc. But he settled down after a while with relatively same portions so probably not that.

He was definitely distracted from daytime BFing as it was far more interesting to sit up, crawl etc. I was constantlx offering BF which resulted in both of us getting frustrated. It resolved itself when I started to offer BF at set times only (maybe first thing in morning, mid-morn, mid-afternoon and bedtime). Again he went back to day feeding after a little while.

Are you sure it's not teething? Weening seemed to coincide with so many milestones and developmental leaps and physical growth... It's hard to narrow it down!
