Desperate Plea for Favourite Soft Toy!

My son cannot go to sleep without his favourite toy (which we only have one of). We've already had a near fatal losing bunny in the street episode and I'm petrified that if I lose bunny, my son will never sleep again! So, I need an 'extra'. The problem...M&S don't stock this bunny anymore, so (and I know it's a long shot)...does anyone happen to have (and can bear to lose - at a price, of course!): a smallish light yellow bunny, it has a flower in it's left hand and a little patch on it's stomach. It's from M&S and it's code on the label is 8691 927. I know it's a bit cheeky to ask but I'm sure any Mum with a child who has a comforter can undertand my fears!!! Thanks in advance....

Now its a long shot, but last Easter my best friend bought my little boy something that sounds very similar, and about a month ago i had a clear out and I put all his soft toys that he no longer plays with - (he is into hats - yes crazy I know, still he might be the next Philip Treacy) into a big black bag in the loft. If you can wait until next week, after Wednesday then I PROMISE I will go into the attic and have a look, I am so sure its the same. Strange - that I was thinking about this toy today because the same best friend had a little boy last week and I was thinking that I should get one for him for Easter!. Anyway if you want my EE mail address contact mumsnet so that we can do this in private! oo err

Jus · 08/03/2002 20:41

Charliesmum - WOW!!! I'm going to love you forever if it's the same bunny. Course I can wait! However, I haven't been on mumsnet many times so don't know how to get your email address...? Thanks again - fingers crossed....

It is the same one - I am not sure how you get my address - however, contact the tech support and I am sure they will help you. Where abouts in the country are you?. I could go undercover if you are near, in my false beard - well thats what I tell everyone - that its false! and meet you at in a car park. Seriously i will post it to you OK. Talk to you on the other side.

Statistics!!! That word sends a shiver down my spine. Reminds me of my Uni days when I had to do some statistical analysis for my dissertation (which, before you ask, was a complete load of b***ks!!) Good Luck, Star, and back to work now, my girl!

mollipops · 11/03/2002 06:28

Hey star, can your statistics software tell you the odds of two mumsnetters having the very same bunny???!!! (Sorry, go finish your essay!!!)

Jus · 11/03/2002 13:52

Wow when I saw all these messages I thought you all had that bunny...!

CHARLIESMUM, I live in North London but I'll contact tech support and see how they can help (I suppose if they see your message saying it's OK, they'll let me have your address...). I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, keep that bunny safe...!

JODEE - you don't happen to live in London too...?

Jus, I'm in South London, so if the bunny gets lost or kidnapped, let me know!

MotherofOne · 12/03/2002 14:28

Hey - I'm re-inspired by this thread (but secretly hurt too - boo hoo)
In Nov last year I posted a very similar request under the title 'Desparately seeking Duck' but didn't get a single response (more boo hoo...)
Can I try again ... just in case... (moreover the duck in question is now even more fragile!)
(Copy of original post):

My 2 yr old has a favourite 'duck' from whom he won't be parted - and that's fine, except 1) he's been washed so many times I think he'll disintegrate soon, and 2) I'm paranoid when we're out that we'll come home to find we've lost 'ickle duck' (we've had a few near misses!)
Has anyone got a spare out there that they don't need? It's a little yellow duck soft toy with a squeaker inside and blue and white striped undersides to his wings - orginally came as part of a Debenhams 'Babble Boom' toy and navy cordouroy bootee set (bought in Autumn 1999). The ty 'quackers' toy is similar, but not similar enough (tried that!). help... is there another one out there anywhere?

charliesmummy · 15/03/2002 19:57

Just to let you all know - the bunny is the one. Free the bunny one from the attic, and will be posting on to Jus OK.

Talking of which I used to have a lovely soft cuddly non grumpy husband, who was'nt the tiredest man in England, if anyone has found my old husband in your attic, please contact Mumsnet and send him back to me.

jasper · 15/03/2002 20:25

charliesmummy when did you last see the newer grumpy model? I think you may find he is now living with me...

charliesmummy · 15/03/2002 23:46

Without wishing to hijack this thread on the Bunny. HOWEVER, is it me? why is my husband so monosyllabic, and tired? or does everyone have one like that?. He is the tiredest man, who, on a daily basis has some physical complaint, that requires me to respond with 'oh darling - really, is it sore, painfull etc etc. I promise you this is true, last week he informed me that he has noticed some red raised lumps on his body, to which I responded with 'well, I did see on the news that there is some leprosy going around, but, as we are not a third world country and our diet is good, its not too harmfull' and he bought it!??? Is he suffering from neglect? or shall I put him in black bin liner in our attic, yes answers on a postcard.

charliesmummy · 15/03/2002 23:50

Jasper - you can keep him if he turns up, I want Mr old husband back, however,if at the moment he is getting on your nerves and won't stop telling YOU how tired he is,tell him you want to start trying for another baby in 6 weeks - that should get rid, also tell him I am going shopping that should make him come home.
