My sleep consultant update...it's great news!

Ok so a couple of months ago I was posting sadly on the NCSS thread - baby waking every couple of hours, fed to sleep, I couldn't leave her. I am happy to report the last three nights she has slept ALL NIGHT, no more night feeds, in her own cot, going down in her cot awake and NAPPING IN HER COT!

So if you are, as I was, despairing, I can tell you this was the best money I have ever spent. :)

That's great news! Are you allowed to share the secrets? Is it routine, consistency, not going at first noise etc etc??

Hope it long continues.

Bril!

AmIGoingMad · 07/03/2014 10:32

That's fantastic!

Going through tough times with dd 8 months sleep at the moment. It's good to hear from someone who made it to the light at the end of the very long tunnel!

Do you mind me asking howick it was and how you found out about the one you used? Any tips you can share?!

Hardrockhallelujah · 07/03/2014 10:38

Wow - I was just about to post about my DD who is 8 months and wakes every 1.5 hours. Always feeds to sleep. Always sleeps in my bed. I want to stop co-sleeping and feeding to sleep and I desperately need to get her sleeping sorted before I go back to work at the end of next month.

Who did you use? What did they tell you to do?

tinierclanger · 07/03/2014 11:00

We used the lady at www.nurturingsleep.co.uk. I can't post the details of exactly what we did as her plans are copyrighted but she takes a holistic approach, builds a plan to suit your family, and you work together. The meat of it is gradual retreat but it's all the bits and bobs around it and taking a consistent approach that really worked for us.

She's a really lovely, supportive person and I can't speak highly enough of her.

Thanks Tinierclanger - I will take a look at the website. Hope it continues for you and thanks for giving me a bit of hope :)

AmIGoingMad · 07/03/2014 11:33

Thanks tinierclanger- will look into that.

Hardrock- have you seen the 'what worked for us' thread in sleep? I'm attempting to revive it as I came across it and it seemed great! I'm on day 3 of it and the getting dd into her cot and asleep at night has really improved. I'm still waiting for an improvement in night wakings tho.

Might be worth a look?

BitOutOfPractice · 07/03/2014 11:36

Oh that's wonderful to hear! Long may it continue!

stillhopefulforanother · 07/03/2014 14:21

Hi Tinier, was there crying involved? I'm thinking about using something or someone to help with naps.

Thanks

tinierclanger · 07/03/2014 18:56

She can't guarantee no crying at all but it's not controlled crying and is a very gentle approach.

Will check that out too AmI. Cheers guys!

I used a sleep consultant to get DS to stop feeding to sleep and also to sleep in a cot at 11 months. We had a couple of really good months until teething, illness, holidays and life got in the way and now his sleep association is back to being me, although no longer feeding at 19 months. Stick with it and don't be tempted to drag her into bed with you for a cuddle unless you're soft like me and secretly love cuddling all night until he's 16

Joesmummy1 · 12/05/2014 22:48

Hi
We used sleep consultant Sian from www.sleepbabies.co.uk. She was wonderful; warm and only has a gentle approach. Life changing as he slept through 3 weeks into the programme. May not work for everyone but amazing for us!
