nightime nappies!

dd is generally a really good sleeper but recently she has started to wake up with a very wet nappy .... which i then change and then she's awake and rather cross for being awake!!! (very vocal) it has occurred to us that it could be teething (the answer to all baby ailments i fear!) as she has a little one making an appearence but the wet nappy doesn't help and i think this only addds to all the discomfort and confusion!

so to rule out the wet nappy i would like to ask you all whcih nappies do you use...do any of you use a special nightime nappy whcih is ultra absorbant etc... i have read the mumsnet reviews but would still like to hear what you all reccomend!

( we use Moltex nappies whcih i have no complaints about but would like to find a more absorbant nappy for nighttime... she usually sleeps from 8pm to 6:30 am!)

Thanks!

(i know i could do the old change her nappy at midnight routine but i can't bear the thought of waking her up just in case she was in for a whole nighter!!)

Hi Bea,
You don't say how old she is.... could you envisage reducing her evening liquid intake ? Does she still have a bottle for example ?
BTW - I seem to remember that my son had a phase where he had very wet nappies. It did pass.
Can't help brand wise, we use terry nappies.

dd is 8 months old, not on the bottle (although i frequently feel i should be!), drinking water with food and has a boob feed before going to bed!

thanks

Bea- ds wears a variety of nappies at night. We use re-usable during the day, but have yet to find one that copes with the sheer volume of pee ds produces overnight. Moltex weren't absorbant enough, Tescos ultra were better, on a par with Huggies, although huggies tend to spill out their innards for some reason so not so keen on them. So my tip would be the Tescos ultra. ds is 16months old and sleeps from 7pm-8am generally. In a washable nappy he only makes it til 4am before waking me for a nappy change.
Definitely think about the night time liquid quota as Pupuce said, but even this doesn't seem to have a large effect on ds's nappies!! He no longer has a bottle at bedtime. Just a beaker of milk with supper and a top up during bathtime if he wants it. But by morning his nappies are still HEAVY with pee!!
