HELP!!!! Need to make an emergency cot as ds´s is soaking!

Half an hour til bedtime, matress still dripping from hosing down following nappy explosion due to tummy bug. He´s 9 months, so too small for bed, and too big to get out moses basket for him. No travel cot, and no one who I can borrow one from in the vicinity....

Shall I cover the matress in plastic bags or something? Or just put rolled up duvets in cot on the slats....

Bottom drawer?

Could you let him sleep in the middle of your bed (pillow either side) for now? and then co-sleep when you go to bed?

Whereabouts are you? Could a MNetter lend a travel cot? I'd guess 9 months is a bit big for a bottom drawer unless you have particularly caernous drawers (so to speak).

I though the same thing lemonaid - can;t beleive someone on here doesn't have a travel cot locally

i would put him in a pushchair too - poor little one as mine was like that 2 weeks ago as i had to change her bedding twice a night for over a week but thanks god we had sun!!!!

If you're near me, Ive got a travel cot you can have and keep!!

Co sleep for a day...Easy peasy.

Have you got a yoga mat or similar - my kids have been known to nap on a yoga mat covered by a fleece blanket, on the floor (it's similar to the sleep-mats that they use at nursery)

You lot are such stars!! Sadly, living in Portugal, so i don´t think that even mumsnet do international travel for this....

Going to go and see if my drawers are suitably cavernous (what a great turn of phrase lemonaid ), although think he´ll just climb straight out and wonder what the hell i am trying to do. Think it´s going to have to be co-sleeping though, although not overly excited about that as he´s still a little explosive in the nappy department. Could be in for an exciting evening....

pram is a good idea - or push open side of sofa or chair against a wall and use that. You would need to be confident it was safe though.

How did you get on? What was the emergency solution in the end?
