Can babies get nightmares?

as dd2 (7months)has for the last 2 nights woken me up repeatedly sobbing for no apparent reason which has resulted in me bringing her into bed with me.
She doesn't always sleep right through anyway as she seems to go through phases or will wake because her dummie has come out but the last 2 nights have been different.
Ive had to bring her into bed with me because of her waking dd1.
Anyone got any ideas?

Can't remember when night terrors start but that could be it. Babies process all of the info from the day while they sleep (and as everything is new that is a huge amount of info) so it doesn't seem strange to me that some of it may come out in a bad dream. My dd (now 15 months) definitely has the occasional nightmare and has done for quite a while.

DD wakes crying a few times a week due to what I can only presume is some sort of dreaming. If I go in she's not actually fully awake and I find that the more I interfere with her the more upset she gets. Often she only cries for 30 seconds and that's the end of it. To be honest, I just normally leave her to settle herself, which she does after a minute or so and I don't hear anything from her again. Know it must be more difficult if you've got two though.

pelvicfloornomore..think babies can dream/have some sort of nightmare..although at 7mths it could also be a security thing of teething as my dd is the same age and going through one of those stages at the min.

DD2, also 7 months, does this from time to time. I've also heard her 'sleep babbling'. The other night she even raised her hands in front of her face, like she does when she's examining something, but she was still sleeping.

Anyone else got any ideas?
