Manic 18mo fights sleep!

My 18 month ds has never been a good sleeper. I've been trying the No cry sleep Solution and he doesn't wake in the night so much but he is a nightmare to get to sleep. Even when he's dead tired he fights it, struggles being rocked or if put in his cot runs up and down it throwing his teddies around or even the duvet. The only way to get him to nap is to take him out in the car but can't always do that at night as have 2 other children and dh away a lot. It's like he doesn't want to miss out on anything and it's taking up so much time! Any ideas please??

You have my sympathy as we have one the same. DS is 16mo and sleeps all night fine (has done since 4mo) but, oh my, getting him to sleep is very hard. At 9pm every night DH takes him out in the buggy as that is the only way he will go. He also gets manic running about, giggling, playing hide and seek, jumping off stuff. If we put him in the cot he screams till he's sick and smacks his head against the bars.

If DH doesn't walk him he eventually flakes out at about 10.30. He usually sleeps till 8.30-9.30 tho and has a 2 hour nap every day 1-3pm - altho he has to be rocked to drop off then.

I have no advice tho, sorry.

I've been advised a homeopathic remedy called coffea. Have ordered it so will let you know if it works!

DH just got back from walking DS for an hour. He was sound asleep, then when being transferred to the bed he woke up and is now running round again Confused

What does the Coffea do? If it's good i'll order some. cheers :)

He sounds over tired. They go manic because it's too late. Can you put him to bed drastically earlier eg 6.30pm lights out and no naps past 2.30? That works better for my two.
