I have been co-sleeping with dc3 and it is getting to the point where it isn't working anymore. I am being kicked so much, I'm not really sleeping.

On Monday we tried to get him to sleep in his cot when he woke but he would basically fall asleep in my arms and then wake as soon as he was put in his cot or 30 minutes later. Did the same on Tuesday and it was much the same. However, Wednesday was awful so I put him in bed with me.

Does anyone have any advice? I need to sleep. I didn't co sleep with dc1 and 2 and they took 2 years to sleep through the night, I need sleep now!

He isn't hungry. He is a very good eater. Will give him his morning bottle anytime after 4:30.

I think by 9 months you can follow Jo frosts (supernanny) advice, sleep separation
Good luck Smile

Put a pillow in your arms and lay him in it whilst he goes to sleep. Wait until he's in a deep sleep before transferring him and pillow to cot (limbs will be limp). It's worked with DC tonight - I have to wait for a deep sleep though or she realises the change in sensation Sad plus the pillow keeps the temperature of their 'bed' consistent.

Introduce a comfort blanket or teddy. Make sure they have a bedtime routine where they go into their cot awake and settle themselves to sleep.

If you do this from day one it's easier. But as you aren't doing this, you may have to try the no crying to sleep method. I had to do it with my first child. Nobody tells you??!!!! But with my second DC I swaddled and put to bed awake with his sookies! The sookies or meemees are still in his bed now age 7 ??
