6 month old waking several times a night

Hi all,
Would love some advice.
My 6 month old boy slept through from 10 weeks but the last 1.5 months he wakes 2-3 times a night, he doesnt cry, just blows raspberries and babbles (quite loudly) and the only way to get him to sleep is to put his dummy back in (although he has now mastered the art of babbling with dummy in)

he has been showing signs of teething but no teeth as yet. He is still in our room (space issues). should we try and wean him off the dummy of just leave him to talk away? if we moved rooms would he learn to go back to sleep himself?

he isnt a great sleeper during the day 2x 30 min naps and goes to bed about 6.30-7.00pm after a 8oz bottle. advice would be greatly received

xx

He might be learning a new skill? My son woke more when he was learning something new. Is the babbling and blowing raspberries new?

If he isn't crying or distressed, leave him!!! Can't stress that enough. He's learning to self settle, which is excellent. My DS did it off and on, still does at 2! I'd always go straight to him if he was distressed, but otherwise leave em to it. Definitely.

So yes to leaving dummy and if at all you can move him to another room, it sounds like now's the time.

Racheyg. My daughter is just over 5 months old now and she is doing exact same thing. Not raspberries but the babbling noises. Put her in own room last night with monitors on and we actually got sleep. All of us. I think DH was waking her with snoring lol I know if I'm not in deep sleep it can waken me! Lol. Really didn't want to do it but I have the flu also and she's just getting over it so was best all round x

Gwlondon he try's to sit up but gets very frustrated with himself, he also prefers to stand rather than lay on his mat which means I spend a lot of the day holding him up :)

Thanks hoops. He does love his dummy, picks it up and puts it in himself I would hate to take it of him when he wasn't ready. He isn't distressed which is the main thing.

Abb1e, we are going to experiment on Friday night. Fingers crossed.
