Dreams of burglary and tooth loss.

Over the last two months I have had about five really vivid and 'feel real' dreams about the house being burgled, everything gone. They are the type of dreams that you wake up and have to check didn't actually happen. Stay with you for days. It keeps happening and it's really bugging me to the point that every time I walk through the door in RL I feel as if everything will be gone.

We don't have a lot tbh, nothing irreplaceable and I have home insurance, it's more the feeling of intrusion that is bothering me. They are about the same thing each time but play out differently. Last night has really bothered me as someone had came into our home but it was a home we had two years ago and they had taken things but left iPads and laptops, the thing that bothered me most is they had taken my sons bed and his room was completely empty! I kept repeating that he now had nowhere to sleep. It's really been haunting me.

I've also had quite a few dreams about tooth loss. Same thing again, not really a reoccurring dream as although I lose teeth in every dream it plays out differently. 2 weeks ago I had a dream that I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom mirror and they were all just falling out. My DS called me in a panic I went into his room but he was now calmly pulling all of his own teeth out sat in his bed. I was pleading with him to stop and he just wouldn't stop pulling them out! It's stayed with me and these dreams are really making me feel on edge and I have no idea why!

I've googled the dream bible and so on and every site has a different meaning.

Just wondering if there is anyone who knows what they could possibly mean. Once I work them out I'm hoping they will go away!! It sounds absolutely mad but they are really affecting me.

I thought dreams about teeth were a sign of anxiety/worry.

Have you got something troubling you? A future event causing anxiety.

One helpful way to explore a dream can be to draw out key things from the dream and do a sort of mind map.

Think about the key feelings in your dreams - loss, intrusion, concern for your son etc. Write these words and then anything you associate with them.

It might help lock your sub conscience a little.

Unlock!

Thanks for that Emma.

Whenever I try to think about them in depth and work it out I get upset and I stop - I don't even know why I get upset they just seem highly emotional!

I've thought about maybe going to a counsellor to unlock it all but I feel a bit of a fraud! I am in a good position financially etc ATM, and otherwise feel generally quite happy so I'm not sure why I am feeling like this - I lost 3 pregnancies in the last two years but I've got one DS already so I feel I am lucky to have him. I don't feel anxious apart from the dreams which than make me anxious Hmm just want them to disappear.

I will try writing it down tonight and see what I can make of it all. Thanks again for your reply

I miscarried one baby seven years ago and it is still hard, even having a lovely wee boy now. 3 losses is a lot to contend with.

Perhaps it is worth speaking to a counsellor to help you explore your feelings and dreams.

Best of luck with it all.
