DS is 13 months, almost 14. He has some allergies but we have those under control. He doesn't always sleep through and while not great, it's not the end of the world. I'm posting about something that seems to wake him up / keep him awake.

Some nights he's wriggling about in bed, like he's in distress and obviously wanting to sleep but can't seem able to. He drifts off, then jerks awake and gets upset. It's almost like he's having nightmares? He sits up really quickly, then falls back asleep upright, then lays back down but is tosses and turns over. I'm really hot on anything not good for his skin because of his allergies, and have experimented with sleeping bags and duvets, and also washing powder and things.

Is this normal - to be like this, like this really restless sleeping? Can babies have nightmares? I just want to help him because he doesn't seem comfortable or relaxed, but seems like he really wants to go to sleep!

My DS2 didn't sleep until 18 months ( he'd nap but wake up again).
I took him to a cranial osteopath who specialised in babies and children. DS2 had issues with his skull/neck/spine ( which fits in with his birth).

After 3 sessions he was sleeping. We go back every 3 months to just keep on top of it.

Hmmmm. DS was a forceps birth and so we took him to a cranial osteopath a few weeks after he was born. He's had about three sessions but over several weeks.
