Cranial osteopathy - any good for a baby?

Bit of background:

Baby's 14m now, we've be shared, then co slept and she currently has the cot next to the bed. She wakes almost hourly. I don't think she ever has slept for more than a 4 hour stretch. And I can count on one hand how many times she's done that.

She has a dummy, which is part of the issue. She wakes, can't find it - cries. I put 3 in with her. Still doesn't work.

She's not needing feed, self weaned at night at 7mo.

She goes to sleep perfectly, feeds to sleep and then goes down ok. It's just the staying asleep.

She does have some molars coming through at present.

I work shifts and am exhausted. I'm thinking of trying Cranial osteopathy. Has anyone any experience of this?

We tried cranial osteopath, don't bother. Honestly do not waste your money there is a reason that it is not offered on the nhs. It doesn't work.

Your best bet?

Teething gel - ambesol
Ibuprofen
Paracetamol
Nelson teething powder
An amber anklet (not used myself but hear others say they are good)

Get her off the dummy, things couldn't be worse than they are now so spend a week with no dummy to break the habit.

With much scepticism I tried cranial osteopathy with dd when she was 18 months old. She had never been a settled baby or slept for more than 3 hrs at once. Both these changes noticeably within 48 hrs of starting c o.

Lots of people seem to have great success with cranial osteopathy, attributing massive, positive, changes in their baby's behaviour to it.

We had a couple of sessions of it when DS was about 4 months. There wasn't a specific problem with him I wanted sorted, it was more because I was interested to see what went on during treatment, his birth was a rapid one and he was swollen and a bit bruised for his first week or two and I was hoping it would turn him into a great sleeper! I honestly didn't notice any difference at all.

I don't think it can hurt to have a go as long as you can afford it and 14 months with crap sleep is not good. What have you got to lose (except the £30-40 per sessions?).
