Four-month sleep regression - affecting naps?

Is this normal?

DD is 17 weeks and I think we're going through the dreaded four month regression (I bloody well hope so, because if this isn't a phase we are going to have a problem...). Is it normal for this to affect daytime naps as well as night sleep? She was reliably having a nap about every two hours throughout the day and would typically manage 30 minutes, longer if we were out and she was in the pram. I was just starting to have some success at extending her lunchtime nap when the regression hit and she is now catnapping for only about 20 minutes if she naps at all.

I would be pathetically grateful for any tips, or failing that sympathetic solidarity and assurances that this will get better?

The dreaded regression can come in many guises, so this could very well be that. Hang in there - DD was a crap cat-napper until she settled into 2 naps at about 6 months old. I did work quite hard extending her naps around that time (resettling if she woke after one sleep cycle), but I suspect she would have done it anyway.
