15mo Dd started waking in the night. Been going on for weeks and obviously I'm trying to analyse it. She's been refusing to let go of her bottle before going into her cot. I've watched her tonight and she sort of cuddles it to sleep! So I'm wondering that when she wakes in the night if she's looking for it? I always took it out because I was worried if she found it in her cot she'd be wanting milk? But maybe she wants to cuddle it... Shall I leave it in tonight?

I'd stop letting her keep the bottle, and I'd look at her nap(s?) as a potential cause of night waking.

As in too much or too little day time sleep? She's in nursery 3 days and sleeps crap ( sometimes only 40 mins all day) but tbh when she's at home and has a decent nap she can be up just the same in the night.

Well, I initially thought too much daytime sleep, but 40mins doesn't sound like a lot (but all children are different, so it's difficult to say!).

We've definitely had rubbish nighttime sleep here caused by not enough daytime sleep, and by too much daytime sleep. It's really difficult to get a handle on, and then they keep bloody changing as they get older, so you need to keep tweaking too. We're currently shortening (losing, wah Confused) DS's afternoon nap in 15 minute increments as required.

It's worth a go I'd say!

Just to add, at any one time, we have a maximum length nap allowed, and a latest nap wake up allowed (e.g. 1 hour 3mins and 3:15pm - when either is reached, it's getting up time). We're pretty strict about naps and bedtime - I think that's why DS still naps at all actually.

1hour 30mins Grin.

Do you mean an empty bottle? And is she just cuddling it rather than sucking it? She might well have chosen it as her comfort object. As long as it's safe leave it in and see what happens Smile
