Help - Milk at night and not during the day

My 7 month old DS doesn't take enough milk through the day (about 10oz from 4 bottles all day) although I put it in all 3 meals and give him 2 yogurts aswell. He still wakes up during the night and I feel I can't ignore him because he wants milk - always takes about 7oz during the night about 2/3am. How can I make him take his bottles during the day and make him sleep all night - everyone else I know who has had a baby recently seems to be getting a full night sleep.

Any suggestions?

They do say after 6 months you can start getting a bit tough!!! You must be exhausted still getting up in the night. I recommend either gradually reducing the milk by an ounce a night or reducing the milk by an ounce a night and topping it up to 7oz with cool boiled water until the bottle is virtually just water.....the idea being that it really isn't worth waking up for anymore. He may protest a bit as the milk becomes less milky and then i would advise controlled crying (normally takes between 3 - 7 days of being consistent before message sinks in). If you keep giving the milk at night time then he quite understandably isn't going to want nor nutrionally require it during the day. I had the same trouble with dd1 feeding at night and not during the day and once she was 6 months i tried this and within 4 nights she was sleeping 12 hours a night everynight! Good Luck - just remember to be consistent and strong otherwise they do learn that if they scream loud enough and for long enough you'll give in!

Thanks! I'll give it a go with the water and then maybe he will take it during the day instead! I'm just so desperate for him to sleep during the night so that I'm not doing a night shift when I go back to work.
