Gro bag advice needed

DS is now 15 days old and having been weighed today he's now big enough for the gro bag we have. Just a bit confused about feet to foot with it - his feet will be miles from the end of the bag so will be loads of excess if I put his feet at foot of bed nest. Or is this just for blankets as guess he can't wriggle down in bag anyway? Any advice/experience gratefully received - or should we just continue with blankets a while longer?

As long as he's big enough that he can't wriggle down into the bag then he should be fine. Gro bag sizes are very generous aren't they?!
You could always tuck in the excess fabric at end of the cot.

The minimum size criteria is to ensure he can't wiggle inside it. If it looks like he can, you will need to wait for him to get a big bigger.

'Feet to foot' is only relevant for blankets to stop baby wriggling down and covering head with covers. It doesn't matter how much fabric there is below baby's feet in a grobag as long as he can't get his head through the opening at the top. The 0-6 grobags have extra poppers to make the armholes smaller which helps with this. Baby can then go wherever in cot, no need to tuck excess fabric away.

YY. Feet to foot is to stop them wriggling under their blankets. It doesn't apply to grobags.

Great - thanks all. Will try him in it tomorrow night.

I thought feet to foot was also to make sure there was plenty of air circulating around their little head to avoid overheating?

In the moses basket, I used to overhang the grobag over the end or roll it up and tuck it, in the cot I put her halfway down ish to leave air space above her head.
