anyone have any insight to waking up in the early hours? DS is 15 months and it has been going on for 3 weeks now. The only thing that quietens/consoles him is a bottle of milk. otherwise he shrieks and rattles his cot and head bangs Sad .

My 15 m dd did something similar the other night. Really hope it was a one off. Only thing that would get her back to sleep was milk even though she hadn't had milk in the night since 8 months!!

What is it with our 15 mo - ds has been like this for the past 3 nights! He's never been a great sleeper but last week he did really well. Last night at midnight he screamed until picked up ( then instantly closed his eyes and went back to sleep( repeated attempts to get him back into cot didn't work so we ended up co sleeping AGAIN
I don't mind him coming in occasionally at 5 but 12 is ridiculous - on my way home from work and dreading tonight

been doing some research today, apparently 15m is a typical time for a developmental leap which can often start with night wake ups etc

the question is, how long does it last..... I need some sleep!

me too - we had a nightmare yesterday he refused his nap then slept 1-3 in the afternoon - which meant he wasn't tired at bedtime! we moved bedtime a bit later (had a longer bath) to compensate and he didn't fall asleep until 10! at which point i went to bed to - he then woke at 3 and came in with us after being awake for ages.

it feels like a special separation anxiety - very screamy and won't give up - also throwing toys out of cot purposefully which he hasn't done before.

We're 4 months into a regression that started at 13 months. Teething mainly (12 teeth!) but illness, a housemove.

LLuckily its only 1-2 nights per week but still rubbish. I either bring him in with us or calpol, cuddle and back down.

I think talking is how keeping him up practising. There'saalways something!
