Teething/sleep regression/ what????

My three month old baby has never been a great sleeper. Usually wakes every two hours to feed. Twice has randomly slept through so I know he's able.

For the past few weeks the night wakings are getting more frequent. An hour and a half is the maximum time between wakings and its getting harder and harder to settle him. Every time I think he is fast asleep and put him down he starts raisinjng his legs, turning his head side to side and wakes up. I thought it was wind but it doesn't seem to be.

For the past few nights he has only slept if in bed with me with my nipple in his mouth. He isn't eating just sort of holding it there. If I move away he starts fidgeting and wakes up.

I'm not really sure whats wrong. I thought it may be teething as he is drooling lots, is always chewing his hands and try's to force my hand into his mouth so he can gum my fingers. However, we tried calpol and it made no difference at all.

Does anybody have any ideas?

16 week sleep regresion. Look at The Wonder Weeks. My LO is 16 weeks and has gone from being a great sleeper to waking in the night, not napping, will only be fed to sleep. She is chewing, dribbling, hands (mine and hers) in mouth. I think these can be development things rather than just teething signs, although can be teething signs so very confusing. No advice other than to say google 16 week sleep regresion and wonder weeks, it's not just you and my LO seems to be getting over it a bit so it hopefully should pass.

Oh and she does the head to head thing too. I think they get harder to settle because they are becoming more aware of the world etc.
