16mo - how long can I blame teeth.

For two months now DD has seemed to have molars erupting left right and centre. I am a mess, constant headaches, picking up every illness going as I'm just a walking shell. At the same time trying to run and business and function from day to day. I thought it would run is course in a few weeks but we are still going, multiple wake ups a night, not settling back to sleep, often up for hours just whinging and crying. It's got to the stage where I'm now thinking it must be something else, is molar teething really this bad?? She's got two too through (just) and two bottom not far off. Her nappies in the last week have got horrendous too. We've also had a bout of croup and general colds/coughs and sniffles. Have we just really been unlucky with everything hitting us all at once.
I've also stopped with the cows milk and put her back on formula before she goes to bed.
I can't cope much longer on broken sleep, I feel like I'm getting something badly wrong here.

I've just read this and could have written it myself. I'm also at my wits end and not sure what to do.

We've had croup/vomiting/dairy intolerance/ etc etc. He's now decided 4:30am is his wake up time. I have no idea what to do! I have a 8 year old and I can never remember it being this bad!

Sorry no help but just wanted to let you know you are not alone!

DS is almost 16mo and has been similar for about a fortnight. No sign of teeth but I think it must be linked. he cries at bedtime, wakes often in the night, won't settle back but is clearly exhausted, up for 1/2/3 hrs at a time and wakes for the day 430/5am.

Same here- BUT at 17 months things have suddenly drastically improved. 4 molars are now through and he's just started sleeping through again or just waking up once. The pain lasted from about 15-17 months, and I resorted to sleeping on a mattress on the floor next to the cot.

Google 'the Wonder Week's. There's a major developmental leap around 16/17 months. As well as that, I'd say your dd is having a bad time with her teething. Does she take a dummy? Some teething gel rubbed on it might help.
