DD has always talked in her sleep (as do I) but over the past week she's also been sleep-walking, i'm a light sleeper so luckily I always hear her. i know not to wake her but does anyone have any idea how long this could go on for? I feel like a zombie! there's no pattern to her wanderings and she's not distressed or in any way unsettled when she's awake. HELP please!

ds has done this a few times, usually when we have been away from home. Last time was on holiday last summer when he seemed to have needed the toilet and lost his way. We found him sitting in a hall having wet himself but he was still asleep and could not recall it next day. First incident I can recall was aged just over three and I now wonder if that was related to him needing to wee but then he was still in nappies at night.

Perhaps if you could identify what triggers her to get up (too dark, light left on, needing toilet or whatever ) then you could anticipate it. Has her bedtime routine changed at all recently, leaving her mind a bit more alert when she goes to bed ?

The man diference was that she was with a childminder last week as it was half-term but otherwise there have been no changes. She goes to bed with her door open but the hall light off. Bedtime routine is absolutely routine....Mum has said that i had episodes of this but there were definite stressors and i was about 9 at the time. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Children tend to grow out of this - i did it several times as a child.

Went into parents bedroom open curtains and shouted moring (it was 1.00am) then just went and got back into bed.

On holiday once i walked out the hotel room onto the corridor looking for the loo.

My parents ended putting a safety gate on my door so that i couldn't escape - but i grew out of it unharmed.
