Was at a party at a childrens party at tue weekend with my 15 month old and got talking to one of the other mothers. Got onto the topic of breastfeeding and she was shocked that i was still feeding my baby and went on to tell me my milk isnt good enough because my baby still wakes at night. I didstick up for myself but the comment has really hurt me and made me doubt that im doing the best thing for my baby by continuing to breastfeed her,Ilove feeding my baby but obviously want the best for her,I have no problem waking 3 or 4 times in the night to feed her either if she wants it. Guess I was hoping to hear from other mums who are still breastfeeding through the night..........anyone?

My sister is still feeding her Dd, shes 2. Im the only person who is supportive of her choice.

I wasn't as successful at bf as my sister but I would never give an opinion on how she choses to feed her child. Just as she never did about my choices.

Ignore those ignorant comments!!

How bizarre to think that what milk a baby is having at that age should affect how they were sleeping!

FWIW, both mine were still bf at that age. One had one bed-time feed and slept through. The other fed every opportunity during the day and also woke at night. Same milk, different babies.

I get this all the fucking time AngryAngry and he's only 5 weeks old. Do you think he's getting enough. Piss off

My non BF friend said to me how do you know if they are getting enough milk, I said because there nappy weighs a ton!

And their gaining weight.

The fact DS weight gain is so good makes my MIL think breast milk can't be enough cos he's growing so fast.

???

Errrr, yes and he's growing so well because of the breastmilk.

Why does everyone seem to have an opinion on it? If women couldn't feed their own babies we would have died out thousands of years ago, and yes I know some women can't they are poorly or on medication etc. But all this I didn't have enough milk or the baby was too big he needed more than I could supply I'm always Hmm
