I was wondering peoples opinion. Can you read to many books about sleep. I've been reading a few and things don't seem to work with my 6 month old.
Then I think am I doing things wrong.

I think you can read to many baby/parenting bigs full stop! I know I read books, Internet etc about sleep and none of it helped my DS! But it might have! It's just that there are do many opinions and theories it can get confusing. Sometimes I just think instinct is the best! But if you need advice perhaps just one book you feel follows your parenting ethos? Good luck with the sleep. What is the issue?

Was going to ask what your parenting ethos/principles were / are, as the other pp mentioned?

That will help you in reading the right things.

There is far too much information now and a lot of conflicting information - I remember feeling extremely overwhelmed at 6 months by various 'sources' telling me to do this, or baby should be doing that.

It took my dm to say - babies don't read; they're all different and dd will sleep better when she's ready. I relaxed more and followed dd's lead.

What books have you read so far?

It's just little man doesn't nap very well. He can go through the day with very little sleep and then gets very tired and cranky. Then I think that affects his night time sleep. I have a real job to get little man off to sleep at night.
The books I've been reading are baby whisper by Tracy Hogg. No cry sleep solution and no cry nap solution by Elizabeth Pantley.
Now started another one called no cry sleep solution but not sure who that's by.

I would choose just one of those books, they're all quite nice ones IMO. Try a technique for at least a week or 2 and if it doesn't work for you and your baby, try reading another one. But I'd definitely say one at a time otherwise it really can get confusing.

good luck. Being overtired can definitely affect sleep at nighttime. Maybe work on he naps and night time sleep might follow.
