Right, I am fed up, tired, tearful and unhappy. DH is away A LOT and my 7 month old does not sleep. I feed to sleep which takes her an hour. She then wakes up multiple times until 11.30pm when she sometimes sleeps till 4.30am. Recently we have been up that early for the day. I have a toddler too and I'm just not getting anything done. By the time I've got them both to bed, eaten and done the washing up, I'm ready for bed.

So, what am I going to do? I don't have the patience for No Cry Sleep Solution, nor the time to read the book. Controlled crying seems a bit extreme for a young baby

gradual retreat doesn't always take a long time, took us 20 minutes for two nights running now have a perfectly happy DS who goes into cot awake for naps and bedtime. We did it when he was 10mo and he was fed to sleep or rocked to sleep prior to that.

How did you do it?! That seems far too easy.

Put him in cot awake, stroked his face and he went to sleep in 20 minutes, night 2 repeated, night 3 he rolled over and went to sleep. I thought he would be a nightmare but it's solved all of our sleep problems.

Did he cry much? I don't think dd would take kindly to being put in cot awake and I don't know how to handle the screaming

He gave a small whine which was appeased by the stroking, I thought the same as you but was very pleasantly surprised.
