What the freak is happening to my 9 month old?!

Ok, so I know 9 months is pretty rough (sleep regression, lots of development etc) but it seems our ENTIRE routine has got screwed up. I haven't had more than 2 hours sleep on the trot since the beginning of September :(

DC used to sleep 9pm-6.30/7am then 2 naps of roughly 1-2 hours during the day. He is becoming increasingly difficult to put down for naps/sleep. Last night he didn't sleep till 10pm, even though he'd been awake from 2.30pm. He then woke at 6.30am, and is now fighting against his nap, just screaming and shouting. I used to feed to sleep (or he'd be gently rocked by the nanny if I was out), and would go off like a dream. But it appears he just DOESN'T want to sleep regardless of how tired he is. He's just learnt to pull himself and stand in his cot, so I know this is responsible for his routine changing but I'm at a loss as to what to do..

I know bedtime is late, but I've tried an earlier bedtime and he's then up at 5am, waking my eldest child who is then tired at nursery. Can anyone help give me some ideas as to what I can do?

Tia

I should say that ds2 will wake up on average 2-3 times for a feed at night, but since Sept he'll get up anything between 5-7 times :(

Have you tried taking him out for a walk in the pushchair, sling or for a drive for his bedtime naps? Will he sleep if you feed him in your bed?

Yes, he used to sleep on the breast then I just used to put him in bed. Now though, he doesn't sleep like he used to. So I'm just putting him I his cot awake hoping he'll learn to self-settle but he just stands up, and doesn't seem to know how to lie down again. So he cries.

Also forgot to say that my eldest is still INSANELY jealous of dc2 so will scream and shout if I put him in a sling (all the screaming means baby can't sleep so defeats purpose). Dc2 refuses to nap in buggy.

How old is your eldest? Is he old enough to understand it if you tell him that having dc2 in the sling means more time with him?
