really hoping you get an answer to this as we are having the same pattern at 20mths, I thought it may be early onset of two yr old molars but no real evidence to back taht up, but just like you, a pat and tuck and all is fine but is doing my head in.

bumping, thats the hard thing isnt it, when he used to wake as an infant there is time to rest a bit as they sleep a little more and do alot less, but toddlers on broken sleep is like torture.

Another bump we had a reasonably good night last night he only woke at 3am and was really upset until dh gave him a dose of pamol in case it was molars. Finally dropped off again at 4am so the pattern here has changed from several quick easy wake ups to one major one by the looks.

DD is going through something similar at the moment - she is 15.5 months. Usually a great sleeper. Waking few times a night at the moment with a high pitched wailing. Most times I leave her a few minutes before going in as more often than not, she drops back off and I don't hear her again. If I do go into her, I'm also not sure she's actually totally awake. She settles easily and doesn't try and interact with me at all. An hour or two later it's the same thing. I think it's the pain of teeth. Going to give her teething muti tonight.
Seems fine during the day though.
