10 week old sleeping 9+ hours a night and going without a feed in that time..

So I felt like the luckiest mum in the world when I realised I had a good sleeper. LO occassionally fights sleep but generally quite enjoys sleeping.

She is EBF and recently has started sleeping anywhere between 7-10 hours at night without a feed in that time. Pretty much everyone (apart from my mum) has said that's too long for her to go without a feed.

During the day she has 6-7 30 minute feeds so I'm pretty convinced she's getting all the food she needs. She's also gaining weight at a reasonable rate.

Should I be worried that she's sleeping this long and wake her for a feed at a certain point? I'm aware of the affect it can have on my milk supply during these hours but since we're considering moving to mixed feeding at the 12 week mark it wouldn't be a tragedy if it did if you know what I mean...

No, she'll be fine. Enjoy the sleep!

And make the most of it! Mine did this from about 8 wks until 13 wks when she started waking during the night again. Pretty soul destroying!

My oldest was like this. I never woke him in the night but I did get hugely engorged by morning. Oh the relief when he fed! He was a chubby chap so I certainly don't think it was a problem.

If she's gaining weight and is happy and alert in the day then you definitely do not need to wake a 10 week old!

Just enjoy this while it lasts. My DS slept 8 hours a night from 8-18 weeks and then didn't again until... 2.5 YEARS!

Agree with all of the above. My eldest was a brilliant sleeper, was sleeping 9+ hours a night at 10 weeks, and 12 hours at 13 weeks. I did try to wake him to feed him, but he screamed the place down, he just didn't want it.

If she's putting on weight and is happy, let her sleep.

Both of mine did this, both out on weight in spades.

Enjoy. Smile

where do I get one of these? Grin

no, I wouldn't wake her. do keep an eye on her hydration level in this hot weather though (eg check fontanelle isn't sunken in the morning)

Who are these witches you wake babies for food?! Tiny babies and illness aside, they let you know when they're hungry! Let the poor things sleep.

Congrats and enjoy.
