I am currently 34+1 with dc2 and my dd 2.2 still won't sleep through the night and has been tantruming like no tomorrow the last couple of weeks. I have posted before about her sleep issues and we saw a sleep consultant and nothing helps it is just the way she is.....we have tried everything....but that is a seperate point to this.....my main q is can sleep deprivation affect bump? I am really tired and suffering with spd, and the heat plus dd being an angel one minute and a horror the next...how do people cope!?!!!

if you look in the pregnancy board you'll see that a very common pregnancy symptom on here is raging insomnia :( I haven't had a decent night's sleep pretty much since the BFP, average about 4 hours a night. My baby is in excellent health by all accounts :)

Sorry to hear about your dd - that must be so hard to deal with on top of you not being able to sleep anyway due to pregancy! I'm 30 wks pregnant with dc2 and, same as FoofFighter, am averaging only a few hours a night - nothing to do with dc1 (although his early morning waking isn't helping!).

I too worry about the effect it's having on me (due to being pregnant) i.e. it must be a strain on my health. But I dont' think it really affects the baby - afterall, they always take what they need from the mum and are sleeping fine themselves, even if we're not :) Good luck!

Nope. I saw 4am every single night of pregnancy - would average around 4hrs per night. Dd is a very healthy 8mo - I actually slept better once she was born (although I didn't have a tantrumming toddler). Its a killer for your sanity though!
