I have problems sleeping anyway as my mind is very busy but pillows drive me insane. Always too hard, too soft, too lumpy. I want a pillow like the ones you find in posh hotels that are firm enough that you only need one. I sleep on my side, front and back so am a bit of a nightmare to recommend to I'm sure!

I have a medium/firm John Lewis goosedown feather pillow that I love, love, love. It wasn't cheap (about £40 I think) but was sooooooooooooooo worth it. I sleep every which way too, but it seems to work out fine in any position.

I would pay £100 to get a bloody comfortable night's sleep Grin. Is one enough or do you need a thin pillow underneath it?

I know the feeling! It really has transformed my sleep to the point that I take it with me where ever possible. [tragic old gimmer emoticon needed] And, no, I have just the one pillow.

If you get the chance go into John Lewis and feel some pillows, as they have quite a big selection.

I work near the big one on Oxford Street so I will do that this week. I might have a lie down in the shop and try them out Grin

marking place as same issue here. I don't like the way the feather ones I've had have just lost all air a minute after lying down - is the JL one the same?

Just bought a goose and duck down from John Lewis £50, medium firm...it's a lot of money to spend, but really worth it, only the one pillow needed.

Reastie, I've had this one for nearly two years now & it doesn't lose everything as soon as you lie on it. Obviously, it squashes a bit, but you still get good neck support. Part of the reason I went for the medium/firm option was to get that retention of puff - so to speak!

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 17/06/2013 16:11

Reastie...the JL one holds it's shape. I thought I'd made a mistake at first, in that it was too hard, but it's not and I love it. I sleep on my side and no more achy neck in the morning.

Hmm, maybe I should invest then. I bought a JL Siberian goose duvet cover earlier this year (or something like that). It cost over £300 but is AMAZING and I love it. Pillows are now letting the side down a bit.
