Cosleeping crawlers

Hi all, my dd is 10mth - we started off with the sidecar cot and went to full cosleeping fm 5mths. Problem is she is now sitting up and crawling. I am really torn about what to do. We can't dismantle the bed and put mattress on the floor there would be nowhere to out the bed frame and DH wouldnt go for it so currently it's a bit risky. If she wakes she immediately sits and lounges off before she's properly awake. I used to have to sleep with her - just when she stay asleep on her own its not safe to leave her Confused Only thing I can think of is to try and get her in the cot for the first few hours and for daytime naps but can't see she's going to like it. The side car cot has also been a great bedrail and bed extender arse Any ideas much appreciated Thanks

We have our bed against the wall on one side and then she sleeps on that side. We also have a video monitor so we can keep an eye on her in the evenings to make sure she isn't wandering off the bed on the other side. We do have a very large bed and a very small flat though so am confident we would get to her before she made it across the bed.

We had to stop when dd got to 9mo as she does the whole lunging and leaping off the bed thing.
I had the normal cot up against my side of the bed for a bit and plenty pillows but it was getting risky.
So she is now upstairs in her own room in her cot and she loves it. Sleeps a million times better and goes down awake/ self settles.
It took about a week to get her there, going in and reassuring and leaving her to cry for a minute or so at a time.
Now when I've fed her and had a cuddle she is leaning away from me to get into her cot

Thanks Roar and Purple. Cot assembled right up by my side with safety foam in the gap. She's just gone down....fingers crossed! If she wakes and wants to join us its fine but at least she's safe whilst I'm out of the room. If it takes till 10 for a few nights that's fine too. She actually looks very cute in there. Ssshhhh! X

sorry - not very clear - she's in the cot but hoping the cot (with the gap plugged) will act as a safety rail if she ends up in with us x

How did your night go? Dd ended up in with me for the first time in ages as she has a tummy bug. So I put the travel cot up against one side to stop her rolling out.
I forgot, she is also in a sleeping bag now and that really restricts the ability to launch oneself of a bed!!

Bed rail, strategically placed pillows and a baby monitor. The first squeak and we're up there pronto, before she makes a bid for freedom!

I'm looking to convert the cotbed as the toddler bed is close to the floor. Then I'll able to settle her down on there and will worry less about falling distance. She's almost one. Not walking yet but won't be long. Had never sleep in the cot Just screams the second she's lowered in!

Hi - well Squidger has just learnt to crawl properly and is seemingly dropping a nap so she is knackered! She went down fine last night just woke at 12 with scratching (eczema) - I automatically lifted her in to our bed but she was so snoozy I think she would have settled if I'd have just fed her and popped her back so tonight she's in a sleepsuit with scratchmits! Again, sooooo tired she has just crashed out....so far. Sad as it seems like the end of an era (she would only ever sleep with me there) but she is growing up and seems ready somehow.

Hope you get a better night Purple and your DD is feeling better.
