Naps - baby no longer sleeps in buggy

My DD (9mo) used to fall asleep in her buggy when she was tired, which was handy when we were out and about. However, she hasn't done this for a couple of months now. After numerous instances of her getting overtired and screechy but not actually sleeping in the buggy, I started planning our days around her naps so that we didn't have to go out then. She naps in her cot, in a sleeping bag (fed to sleep).

However... you've guessed it... I'm going to have to spend a day out of the house soon. This wouldn't have been a biggie when she was smaller but I'm a bit worried about her naps! I can see myself being The One With The Screaming Baby, and getting those looks of sympathy Grin

Has anyone else been in this position? Any ideas welcome!

Can you use a sleeping bag in the buggy would that help? Gro-bag do ones with a hole in the back that means you can do the straps up. I got one half normal price in tk maxx recently. If you feed her full/to sleep/ nearly asleep then our in buggy and get moving quick?

I'm guessing she doesnt have a dummy? This helps my dd sleep in her buggy. (Even though I'd rather not still be using one).

To be honest I have the opposite problem. My 9mo dd won't sleep in her cot or feed to sleep in the day and I walk her twice a day in the buggy!!

Get a snooze shade! They're ace Smile best £20 I have spent recently.

DrMcDreamy No, no dummy. Might have to try a travel sleeping bag, as that seems to be a good sleep association!

teacher123 How does a snooze shade work? Is it just for babies who can only sleep in the dark? Or does it blot out all distractions from the outside world? DD can sleep in her cot during the day when it's light, no need for darkness, but I think that there's just too much going on outside when she's in her buggy!

I second the snooze shade. (or similar). dd is too interested in the world to sleep in the pram without it, but it works brilliantly to block all that out and signal nap time.
