Apologies if it's against the rules to ask on here, I started a thread on the for sale/ wanted board, but there is not much traffic.
I was wondering if anyone had an NCT bednest they wanted to sell?
DC2 due at the end of July and I'm considering renting one, but would buy a second hand one happily if I could find one.

Still using mine but I just wanted to say it's great, hope you find one. They do come up on eBay and there are a couple on there now (London/Sevenoaks). Good luck!

Is it a sidecar cot you're after? The Ikea cots which t urn into little "beds" are very easy to turn into a sidecar cot.

glorious thanks for the recommendation, great to hear you're happy with it. How old is your DC?

yoni it is smaller than a standard cot, we don't have enough room for a side cot but we can fit the nest, only just.

She's 4 months and hoping she'll squeeze in till 6 or when she can sit unaided from lying (98th centile for height so perhaps not!). Want to keep it for eventual future DCs hence not looking to sell Smile

But it's really lovely to wake up looking into her eyes and to be able to reach over to comfort her when needed without moving without the restrictions of safe bed sharing.

We have the Bednest. If you convert the IKEA cot it won't attach to your bed and if it moves will create a dangerous gap. The Bednest makes a bridge to our bed. We rented it for £99 from bednest and it comes with a new mattress and side panels. If you buy second-hand you should really get these new too - about £90 - so it might cost a lot more in the end.

zaramama13 that's a good point about the mattress and side panels. in this case I think I will just stay with the original plan and rent it.

The Bednest is amazing; nothing compares.

We'll probably be ready to sell ours by mid-July - PM me, duende

If you do go for it Duende I thought you might like to know you can get a bespoke mattress made from a template from these people: www.cotmattressfactory.co.uk/. They're much cheaper and the one that comes with the bednest isn't great anyway so you wouldn't be losing out. I used them for a strangely shaped old moses basket (DH's!) and they were very helpful.

Plus I think you could take the fabric off the sides to wash (but not totally sure, I haven't dared try!).
