Napping in pram

After a long battle with naps, my 6 mth DS now likes napping in his pram after being pushed round the block and pushed into housr. He does however only like to nap in his snowsuit (we r obviously careful re the temperature). As it warmer now I don't put him in his snowsuit but he won't nap now! I experimented the other day when it was cold and he napped.well again in his snowsuit. He obviously likes the warmth and security.

Does anyone have any ideas what to use instead? He won't nap in cot. I've heard sheepskin or lambswool is good but is it safe for.six month old and would it get too hot in summer?

I used to put the raincover on to keep the breeze off. When we came into the house I could slip it off if it was too warm.

I am having a similar issue. My 12 month old has been happily napping in his buggy for ages. However if I take off the fleecy cosy toes he won't sleep. The other day he woke up and his little head was all sweaty because of the fleece.

How about getting a gro-bag and cutting holes in the back and front to put the crotch strap of the buggy through (you can buy a travel grobag which has the hole in it already and would be safe to use in bed too) A 1tog bag would be fine in the summer.

I have got a grow bag with feet in it I use it when DS has to sleep and we need to go somewhere of a night. I will at the name and get back to you.

You can buy some of the proper Grobag-branded sleeping bags with holes in them so you can feed car seat/buggy straps through. We had one in a summer weight and it was brilliant.

Sheepskins are supposed to be fine in hot weather - after all, the sheep cope ok in the summer with them on! They are supposed to help babies regulate their temperatures, I think.

We have a sheepskin liner for the buggy and dd takes all her naps in the pram. We recently went in holiday to New Zealand, where it was summer and kept it in - she was fine and didn't seem over hot at all. As a pp said, sheepskin is supposed to be one of those natural temperature regulating materials, so it's supposed to keep them warm in the cold and cool in the hot. DD sleeps so well in the pram that we also got her a giant sheepskin for her cot - hasn't made her sleep through yet, but it sure looks cozy!!

My ds (8 mths) likes sleeping in his pram. He likes to have a hood up and the rain cover always helps.
Also, I find a quick walk keeps him awake while a slow trundle sends him to sleep.
I have to ignore him as well if I want him to doze! If I catch his eye or faff with his bib or something, he wakes up!
Does he take a dummy? My ds decided at 4 mths that he liked a dummy, before then he dozed off sucking on his zip! I used to help him find it to suck on!
Keep experimenting with things, you'll find something that works as well as the snow suit! Good luck!

I got my buggy liner from John Lewis and it was about £50. Got the cot one from here www.thewoolcompany.co.uk/baby-bedding/baby-sheepskins.html and think they also do buggy liners.

thanks for all the help. just one more thing - what is the difference between a sheepskin and lambskin liner? Which is best and what would be better for the summer? Could it also be put in the cot?

I'm not sure, but don't think there's much in it. Maybe lambskin is softer?
