Started sleep training and now I get less sleep?!

The little man has been waking up every 2/3hrs since about 4 months, he is 6.5 months now and in his own room. I'm back at work so desperate for some proper sleep. We had a bath, bottle, bed routine but it was suggested to swap the bath and bottle so he would go down asleep. He now screams for an hour after being put in his cot and grumbles/whimpers every 1/2 hrs.
Still breast feeding bar his night bottle.

Is this normal? I know it's supposed to be hard :(

Thanks
Xx

Do you mean go down awake? Is the bath maybe too stimulating?

Yes meant awake. Swap back to bath bottle, if bath too stimulating?

We do bath then bottle but try to keep him awake or rouse him before putting to bed. My LO loves his bath, no way he would sleep immediately after. Maybe you could add a story after bottle?

I've found this, we have a terrible sleeper (6.5mo too) who is still cosleeping. I started gentle sleep training a few weeks ago, putting her in her cot sleepy etc. But she woke so often I felt worse and I'm not even back at work yet so I gave up and she' back in our bed, much happier shes obviously seen the other side! and we're all getting more sleep. I figure I'll try again in a few months.

We had a similar thing. DS fed to sleep, I changed it and fed then bath. It took 6 months for him to get the hang of self settling. He woke far more often. Stupidly I persisted thinking it would get better. If its bit working, may be its too soon. Don't feel bad about reverting back. You can always try again in a few months.

I have a 6 1/2 mo as well and I had a brief phase of putting her down awake successfully but now she screams relentlessly and I have given up and feed to sleep.

I have moved from co sleeping to her own cot, but she wakes up more (from 3-4 times to 6-7) so I'm not convinced it is working.

Good luck.
