Does anyone have experience of this place?

DS is 22 months and as I've been moaning about his sleep issues here now on several occasions, I've started to wonder if he might benefit from cranial osteopathy.. I had a difficult labour: lasted for 78hours and DS was stuck in the birth canal and finally pulled out with forceps. i wonder if he still carries trauma in his body as a result..

I have used cranial osteopaths who have worked there, but not used the actual place itself iyswim? I say, give it a go. You have nothing to lose, but a broken nights sleep!

Hehe, that is true! I shall give them a call on Tuesday..

Just out of curiosity, what has your experience been with osteopathy and did you use it for yourself or DC?

I used it for DD at about 8 months but at that time the centre was in Farringdon. I imagine it still has the same staff/practices though. We went as DD had terrible sleep issues, silent reflux, and a funny persistent cough that she'd had since birth - I also had a long, back to back labour, ending in an EMCS as she was in a funny position and wouldn't descend fully for me to push her out. I can't say the osteo sessions seemed to make much difference, but I know other people who swear by them, so it's got to be worth a shot. It's free in theory too, though they do suggest a donation of I think about £20 a session. They certainly don't force you to pay it though.

Thanks for your reply! I think I will give it a try next month, when our finances are hopefully a bit better. I would feel awkward not paying anything and right now just can't afford to..

Hm, I really wonder if it would be effective on DS, who's nearly 2.. Did the issues you have improve over time, or is your DD still struggling? I would like to think my DS's sleep issues might have some physiological basis, but I fear it could just as well be learned behaviour, I.e inability to self-settle due to having always co-slept and breastfed to sleep..

I went to the old place too. they were brilliant, my dd loved going and they gave me sessions when I had just given birth to dd2. Very insightful and helpful, and just a lovely gentle atmosphere. Did help with sleep too (my dd would get over excited and was unable to switch off).

I have used the OCC for all three of my kids for various reasons, two at the old place and just recently at the Shoreditch 'outpost'. The people are fantastic and really know what they're doing. It didn't work every time but it's worth a try!! I went recently because my son was a screamer and they have literally straightened him out!
