How do you ease teething pain in the night?

My 5 mth old was up all night with, I think, teething pain. I gave calpol, granules etc.. but nothing worked. As soon as he was up though, it seemed to disapear and he was happy again. Can raising the mattress help or do u do anything else that works. Also, he only seems to like to drink milk at night! Shock

Marking place as I'm having the same problem I think. She's waking several times a night and needs a lot of comforting but during the day seems fine and is happy.

Something good to chew on with some teething gel on it?
Sure they are not just cold/uncomfortable (only say this as DB had this with his, up all night but turned out they just needed an extra blanket!)

I'd give calpol and ibuprofen but when DS was really bad the only thing that worked was for him to sleep with my boob in his mouth! Maybe a dummy would help if you're not bfing?

Yes, calprofen is best for teething?

Whenever DS is teething I give him calpol and teething powders at bedtime and then calprofen in the night if necessary. (According to correct dosages, obviously)

The only thing that works with mine is co sleeping. The rest of the time they are perfectly happy in their cots. Think they just need lots of cuddles when teething.
