14.5 mth waking up with 'frog's legs'

DS has been waking up for the past 3 months or so through teething and I think he has got into the habit of waking.
For the past 3 mights he has woken up with what I call frogs legs, where he brings his knees up and flings his legs down again.
I think this is wind related as after a long while he'll burp and fart.
How can I ease the pain he's in and help the wind out? I try patting and rubbing his back and his tummy, offer him a drink, put him down to play or walk for a while thinking the movement might help.
In the end nothing settles him until he I give him nuerofen.
Any suggestions on what I can do or even why this has just become a problem?
I can't think of any change to his diet or daily routine that would cause this.

Does he cry gulping air in? Could infacol be useful - but think this is for smaller kids?

Hope you get someone who's been through this to help you xxx

He wakes up crying same as he always does. He doesn't like his cot at the best of times and cries pretty much as soon as he wakes normally. Not noticed him gulping air though. Dh say's he might get some infacol, but as you say, thats intended for young babies.

Don't know if medication is the answer bbugs? I'd mention this to your doc to see what they suggest. Sounds like you're trying loads of things to sort it out.

I'm going to see the nurse in the morning as ds has his mmr jab. I plan to enquire there if I remember (pregnancy brain atm). Just hoping that I'd have a few alternatives to try too.

I was preg through last summer - was really hot. I just sweltered in the heat :) Plus looking after kids was tough when I would have liked a rest - hope you get some breaks to put your feet up :)

Due 10th Aug, hope its not too warm this year! I may get to put my feet up when I go on maternity leave at the end of June, not much chance of that though as ds is now up on his feet!

I had no rest with my little ones whilst preg! - my feet would really swell - lovely!! Make the most of any breaks you get at work! Had my ds4 last september. Best wishes xxx
