We have a fantastic baby of 15 weeks called Lyall.

Following Gina Fords routine, he now sleeps from 11 pm to 7 am, in fact if left he would sleep to 9 am.

I breat feed all day, except the 10/30 pm feed we have always given a bottle of a
which Lyall has dictated about 5/6 oz.

We tried to reduce this to 3/4 oz but this means he wakes at 5am... 4 hours earlier re the above!

Does anyone have any reccomendations of how to eventually drop this feed..... do we keep tryin in reducing the levels, but with the above in mind of what we have tried so far!?

just to state my position for the record... pro GF but with a hefty measure of salt on certain things!

sounds like he doesn't want to give it up yet - my advice would be not to force it. our ds did not agree with gina's timing on this one either but was sleeping 7 - 7 by 5m or a bit earlier, can't remember exactly. he just gradually cut down of his own accord, so don't worry, just see how it goes for a while.

Hi - I am Gina "follower" - 2 kids on the routine.
15 weeks is not that old to drop the 1030pm feed.
Keep giving him the 5/6 oz bottle, he will start to drink less of that bottle when he is ready and then you count about 5 nights at 2 oz... and you drop it.
DS and DD dropped that feed at 4 months (that's more than 15 weeks I think).

I too followed GF with a fair pinch of salt after the first few weeks of getting a routine sorted out. I found that DS was about 5 months before we dropped the 10.30 feed. I think she says soemwhere that it takes longer for BF babies to drop it anyway.
I echo Pupuse's advice about letting him take the lead and drink less when he wants to - you will soon know. In the end we had immense difficulty waking DS and persuading him to drink and he would stay awake and suck for less and less time (BF so don't know how much he was getting).
15 weeks does sdound early to me to drop that feed as a result of my experience , but then all babies are different and I'm sure others have found otherwise
