Settling with a dummy

Hi, my DD is 12 weeks old and for the past few weeks she has been "sleeping" from about 11 through till 6 or 7. I say "sleeping" because she wakes from a couple to about 10 times per night wanting me to put her dummy back in her mouth. It is a massive improvement from getting up to feed her 3 times per night which is where we were a few weeks ago but I was wondering if I should be trying to get her out of the habit of needing her dummy through the night? If I just leave her to settle herself she mostly starts to properly cry rather than just mild fussing.

Should I just be grateful that she is sleeping this much now or should I be trying to stop her reliance on her dummy?

Thanks

Hi, we went through the same with our DD. She's slept through from around 6 weeks Grin and only woke during the night for her dummy. My advice is carry on with it - it's better than her waking up properly and keeping you awake for long periods at night (although I know broken sleep is just as annoying!). Our DD is now 6 months and is growing out of her dummy habit on her own. She generally wakes just once during the night wanting her dummy, but some nights she doesn't wake at all. She likes it best now during the day for chewing on and playing with!

Tip: We use Mam glow in the dark dummies, they're fab when you can hardly open your eyes to start searching for a dummy!

A glow in the dark dummy would definitely come in handy! Glad to know there is hope!
