DS is nearly 7 months and the past few days has been a nightmare - not sure if it's teething or not - he already has two teeth at the bottom and I can't yet see any teeth coming out at the top. He's been crying much more than normal and also squirming around a lot. Have tried calpol couple of times a day and that seemed to help a bit. But today and yesterday I didn't give any calpol and he's been sleeping for England! He normally has 30 mins at around 9am and then 1-1/2hours from 12 noon. But the past couple of days he's slept for an hour in the morning and then not gone to sleep again till around one or two pm and then has slept for much longer - today he went to sleep at one and is still asleep at 2.30! Is this normal? It hasn't seemed to change his night sleeping habits - still sleeps the same hours at night.

dd1 used to have an hour in the morning 2 at lunch then 30 mins late after noon.

dd2 has 30 mins all day if that.

They are all different, don't worry.

Also, I find that if they have been ill and had sleepless nights, for the next few days they seem to sleep more at nap times to make up.

Yes, normal. Try to roll with it as it can and will change again. Also, if he's upset always assume it's teething even if you can see anything - once they're through thats when they stop hurting. It's the pressure building up in the gums thats the killer. It really is awful for them, poor monkeys. Calgel is good with calpol.

Yes, they can sometimes work but get lots if they do as you will run out. It's awful I know but it must be worse for them IYSWIM. Good luck.
