A Bedside light? For a cot?

We're getting quite a few "lost" teddy incidents with dd (2 and a half). The teddy is always right there. To some extent it seems like it could be a "ploy" but she doesn't seek any more attention. Just wakes in the middle of the night crying bitterly, when you locate the teddy she stops crying, barely acknowledges your presence and buggers off back to sleep. Am I mad to think a bedside light might assist? It's hard to imagine how it would work in a cot.

We have got a lovely one from Jojo. It's shaped like a hippo (although you can get lots of different animal shapes) and glows different colours. It detaches from the base so they can use it to go to the loo in the night, or pick it up to find something.

Our DD is still a baby but we got it so I can see her while co-sleeping with the view of her using it when she's bigger. There are lots of lights like this tho.

Nice hippo! I suppose I was thinking of something with a switch, dd usually wants it pretty dark - she'd turn the sun out at nap time if she could. But then again, it was the switch that was making me think it was a crazy idea.
