baby sleeping in own room, help!

i am a new mum to 3 and a half month mason, i am trying to decide of the best time to put him in his cot in his own room, i have a question:

Health visitors go by the rule you should put the baby's feet at the foot of the cot so they are at the bottom end of the cot, however i am wondering how mums have done this as the babys cot blanket is too big to be at the bottom of the cot to keep baby warm so how did other mus do this, he already sleeps in a sleeping bag with a blanket in his moses basket, any tips or suggestions would be a great help :)

if he needs a blanket, buy a smaller one, fold it and ALWAYS tuck it under the end of the mattress so if he moves upwards the blanket stays put and he escapes the blanket (can't move down as feet at the bottom of the cot)

We're just going to shift this across to the sleep topic, which is the best place for it.

I use a Safababy Sleeper but a lot of people on here use GroBags (or generic equivalent) as the reasoning for feet-to-foot is that it stops baby wriggling under the covers. It's not possible to do that with a GroBag.

Don't use a blanket. That's the simple solution. you are not supposed to put blankets on top of a baby who is wearing a sleeping bag anyway. if the baby is in a sleeping bag and there is no loose bedding such as blankets you don't need to worry about where you put them in the cot.

Fold the blanket if it is too big, always tuck it in at sides and the bottom so if baby wriggles up, the blanket stays put. Use a cellular blanket, which has tiny holes in it.
