DD is 8months1/2, she is always on the move and in her bed too. She has always slept in a grobag, the ones with buttons on shoulders. Despite sewing an other set of buttons she can still put herself outGrin. THen end up out of the grobag, trying to pull herself up etc...COuld you suggest a Grobag with a Zip at the back or even a Zip at the front but zipping from top to bottom!!!

The asda ones have a zip from top to bottom and underneath iyswim. They have poppers on the shoulders though so may not be good for your dd. My dd 1 yr is a mover too but she's never come out of one. They're £10 and they wash really well. Maybe worth a try?

Thank you. The 3 grobags I have were given to me as presents so I will try to find the £10 one... worth a try as you say!

we've got an actual Grobag one - for 6-18 months - no poppers and zip that goes from top to bottom - my DS has spent the last 3 months trying to escape but to no avail!!

I always call the sleeping bags "grobags"... but grobag is a brand name isn't it???? Where did you buy yours Katylou? Can't escape sounds greatGrin

Their main site seems to be \link{http://www.gro-group.co.uk/brands/grobag/\here}, but they're available from other places too...HTH

\link{http://www.kiddicare.com/icat/grobags\The kiddicare website} also does grobags but at slightly cheaper prices.

My son escaped from his grobag at 17 months - we were given one of the ones with no poppers and just a zip from the top to the bottom - so we put it on backwards. He could still open the zip a little way up, he was never able to get both feet out. We felt a bit guilty, but also 'gotchta'! Wink

tassis · 27/04/2006 20:40

the grobags (actual grobag make) we have are all over a year old, but all zip from top to bottom.

a friends one (also an actual Grobag) that was purchased in the last six months or so, not only has zip from top to bottom, but a wee popper flap that covers the zip pull at the bottom.

I defy her to escape from that for a few months anyway!!

Good prices (including P&P) on uptofive.co.uk (and support a lovely Scottish local business)

Just had a look at my Bump to 3 catalogue (Grobag as was). The 18 - 36 month grobags have a special cover but the 6 - 18 month ones don't. But, they do loads of designs that zip open from the bottom to the top - my 2.4 year old still can't get out of his!!

Oblomov · 27/04/2006 21:04

We've bought loads of growbags, from 3 mths, through to 2 1/2 years - from e-bay (new) , John Lewis, Mothercare - all with zips top-to-bottom.

You shouldn't have any problems finding them.

bandbsmum · 29/04/2006 21:26

I got sleeping bags for dd from ebay, but they are brand new from this seller: www.sleepythings.co.uk. They zip from top to bottom and dd has never escaped, whereas she used to from her smaller one which had poppers on the shoulders. Cheaper than the actual grobag make.

Stage 1 for escapers is to put the bag on back to front.

Stage 2 for advances escapers involves securing the zip to the fabric with an old-fashioned lockheaded nappy pin.

jamiesam · 29/04/2006 21:31

Ds2 started getting out of his grobag some time ago - would then remove pyjamas & nappy and wet the bed! We resorted to using a nappy pin to nail the zip down, which he's never mastered! (use an old fashioned metal one though - the modern ones with plastic protective bit are rubbish)

Cybermingers idea of putting grobag on backwards is inspired!

jamiesam · 29/04/2006 21:32

Blimey frogs, did I really take so long to type...

threebob · 29/04/2006 21:50

You need a real Grobag and if they still escape put it on inside out, and if they still escape, inside out and back to front.
