Improve my nights sleep

Apart from the no telly in bed etc has anyone improved their nights sleep? I have never been a natural waker in the morning and would love to get up earlier on the odd morning but I seriously cant my body just cant move, and I'm not a natural positive thinker so I struggle.

Should I be asleep by 11am, should there be no computer after 9pm, should I read something if so what????

I have tried to go to sleep earlier but I still dont spring out of bed in the morning and feel fantastic.

I'm sure I'm not getting enough DEEP sleep, I dream a lot too.

Not clear on what you are struggling with. It is going to sleep?

I'm the same, I dream a lot and feel dead in the mornings.
I try not to go to bed until I'm really tired, I drop off easier. I also use a hypnosis track as that is meant to promote deeper sleep.
iPod apps have a function that subtly wake you in lighter phases by monitoring your movements. They get good reviews.
Depression/anxiety can also cause lighter sleep making you dream more.
Could you right stuff down? Get stuff of you chest? Even if you don't have any problems, you could still have a busy mind.
I bet you analyse everything and over think like me.

I'm an erratic sleeper. I go through phases when I sleep all through the night, then others when I wake at 2.30, 3 or 4 and often have to read for quite a while before I feel able to sleep again. I hate it when I don't sleep properly because it does make me feel tired during the day. So it's not as if I don't NEED the sleep I miss.
Recently I went to some Zumba classes. I found that not only did I sleep like a log the night following the class, I felt generally much livelier and more energetic for a couple of days following l- and slept well too. The benefit was really noticeable, so if you could find the money & the childcare, I'd recommend that you try that.

How's your diet?

bacon · 20/11/2012 22:44

My diet is very good but I had a very bad bout of CFS years ago and what with anxiety problems it just messed up my sleep. Previous to this I was a brilliant sleeper. I also suffer from blocked nose in bed which I can do nothing about.

Most of the time I dont have anxiety however I just dont have the deep sleep.

I am an erratic sleeper, for weeks I'll have great sleep then one night terrible and the pattern starts again.

AGree exercise improves sleep however we run a business, hubby hardly here and I have little child care its very busy here - not much chill time so thats the vicious circle. I have to be careful too if I exercise late then I cant sleep and makes me worse. In a perfect world I would do a morning class.

Most of the time I feel horrendous in the morning I never wake up feeling refreshed and bright. Face like thunder and attitude stinks!
