Travel cot - help!

My ds , 20 months, sleeps well at home in his proper cot but when ever we go away is very hard work in a travel cot. Any advice on helping him to stay asleep cos he seems to wake every time he moves cos of the crinkling sound the mattress (if you can call it that!) makes.

That does sound more civilised!

Does anyone know where I could buy a proper mattress rather than the rubbish one ours came with? It is one of the almost square ones.

Sunnyside - I found that a cot duvet fitted the base of my travel cot perfectly. It stopped the crinkly sound and as a bonus made the mattress so much more comfy to sleep on. I just put a fitted sheet over the top of the duvet and the mattress base together.

I used to fold a massive fleece blanket and put it on top of the cot base. Made it much cosier.

I bought a mattress that fitted out mothercare travel cot from the kiddicare.com website. Not sure if they still seel them though. It made travel cot much more comfortable.
