dreamfeeding

I am thinking of trying dreamfeeding tonight.

My ds is 13 weeks old - he has been a bad sleeper from day one. Things have improved, he was waking every hour / hour and a half for a feed but now we get the occasional night where he only wakes up once (usually once or twice a week).

Some nights he's up twice sometimes more - there doesn't seem to be any routine to it.

He has his last big feed about 6pm and then normally a top up at 7.30 before he goes to sleep. I am wondering if I should try dream feeding him at about 10.30pm?!?!?!?

How do you do it - just lift them out the cot and put a bottle in their mouth? Do you have to wake them up at all?

Or should I just let him find his own routine - it has been 13 weeks and there's no sign of one yet.

well I just heard him moaning which he never normally does at this time so I took the oppertunity to feed him - he guzzled 4Oz straight down.

I'll have to see if he sleeps any better tonight.

Hi sweetheart
I have to say I highly rate dreamfeeding
In answer ot your q's. No, no need to wake them, and no need to wind either
For some babies it is wonderful, for others it just doesnt take, but gotta be worth a try. Good luck for tomorrow

Well he very nearly went through the night last night. He stirred at 4.30am but I put his dummy in his mouth and he went off to sleep. Apart from that he slept from 10.30pm - 6.45am.

Hopefully, it will work again tonight!

So glad you had a better night Sweetheart. I used dreamfeeding with my DD and can't recomend it highly enough - it saved my sanity! Didn't work with DS though - he just wakes and guzzles the whole bottle!

It worked great for my dts, but the only problem is that it can be hard to drop. They are a year this week and still having a df!
