Baby will only sleep if I hold her- going mad

Dd is 7 weeks old. She will only sleep in day if I hold her, or she is in the sling. If I put her down, even once asleep she wakes and screams.

Same for evening, although she will sleep in cot from 10pm feed until 4am (obviously feeding in between!)

I have a 3 yr old ds as well, so it isn't practical. I can't wear sling all the time, I can't shower with it on, or cook. And to be honest wearing her 12+ hours a day makes me claustrophobic.

She will go in pushchair if she is already asleep and I stay outside and moving. Can't do that for 2 hours with ds.

Help.

what about comfort milk? It's broken down a bit more and might help.

DD is like this still....at 7 months!!! She'll sleep by herself at night, but will only sleep on us during the day or nod off in the buggy. She'll just very happily stay awake all day otherwise.

At 6 weeks she needs to sleep on me at night, but then one night I could slip her into her cot after she nodded off. Then many nights later she would fall asleep by herself in the bed between us. Later she could self-soothe to get to sleep at night. So as she has got older things have got easier.

She is still being very stubborn about the daytime naps though. Luckily DH is a chef who works nights and is very happy to have DD asleep on his chest in the mornings (means he doesn't have to get up!). But I would love to hear tips on how to get a persistant chest-napper to sleep by themselves during the daytime.
