16 week old has slept all morning...

Hello

My daughter is 16 weeks and heretofore has slept reasonably well in the night, waking once or twice for a feed (she's EBF). For the last few days however she's woken up screaming every 1 1/2 to2 hours and will not be settled by anything other than a feed. It's pretty brutal.

She's slept most of this morning and I'm a bit worried that she's going to be awake all night! She has been feeding a lot more so could she have just hit the dreaded 4 month spurt a week early? She normally has 3 sleeps during the day and then bath and bed routine starts at 1830 or earlier if she's obviously tired. We do not and will not do CIO and she can and does resettle herself and night so this is really out of character for her.

Please tell me this passes! She's never slept through the night and I'm OK with that but this is seriously hellish.

Let her sleep get yourself a rest + a good feed then wake her up + fed er up to.the gills all afternoon. Probably a growth spurt.

It ia hellish but remember the Mothers Mantra....tis only a phase...

It could be a growth spurt, it could be the 4 month sleep regression, it could be the next developmental leap, teething or Reverse Cycling or a combination of them all.

Whatever it is, I'd make sure you feed her lots and lots this afternoon and really tank her up before tonight.

It does pass, honest.

Sounds like she's done the feeding part of the growth spurt, she's now doing the sleeping part - we grow and develop when asleep.
