What light do you use for night feeds/wakings?

I need a new solution as DC2 is due in a couple of months.

With DS I had a pocket PC which has now died. It was good as it wasn't very bright and turned itself off after a certain length of time. I'm not going to get another though as it cost £100.

I have a Kindle cover with a light, but that's too bright.

I need something not too bright, preferably that turns itself off. Something that can be shoved under the pillow to reduce the brightness is ideal. My 2.8 y.o. will be sharing the bedroom with us so I don't want anything which will be bright enough to disturb him.

Any ideas?

I'd be interested in the answer to this too. We use one of those touch lamps - you tap it once for a dim light, again for brighter, etc. But that's probably too bright for you. Otherwise - if I'm away, I use my mobile to see enough to latch on - and obviously amuse myself while the feeding goes on.

My ds has one of those cot mobiles with lights that project onto the ceiling. I found that turning that on (on a silent setting) gave enough light to be able to see what I was doing whilst not disturbing dp or waking baby fully.

this is brilliant and nicely toddler proof.
